The observations and learnings of Arup and Archana over the past three decades from their engagements in the corporate sector and with various NGOs helped them identify gaps in existing social interventions and their delivery mechanisms. Both of them are strong advocates for sustainable livelihood generation initiatives for the economically and socially marginalised communities. Their belief is that through increase in income and better lifestyles, many of the existing social and economic challenges faced by disadvantaged community members can be overcome. ArunaSocial Ventures is an outcome of this thought process and aims to provide a platform to such individuals to upgrade their skills and enable their economic inclusion.

At a personal level, both Archana and Arup believe in maintaining a simple and sustainable lifestyle. As a result of this, all their lifestyle choices are made by keeping the interest of people and the planet first.
